Why Worry?

Anxiety  makes us ill in body, mind, and spirit, yet it is ingrained in our nature from the moment we are born.
I-have-spent-most-of-my-life-worrying
Worry only feeds our panic over situations that are beyond our control.
Letting  go and trusting seems impossible.
My family’s word for over thinking is Mental Kung-Fu.  Try saying it and soon you will smile at the image of  thoughts wrangling with each other. Laughter cuts through our  anxiety because we realize how absurd we are.
do-not-worry
Might as well give up. I was not designed to control everything and everyone. So I might as well give up control and give God His job back.  When I accept that I am simply a child of God, nothing more, nothing less, then I can relax.
Matthew 6: 25 “That is why I tell you to not worry about every day, whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They do not plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And are not you far more valuable to him than they are”?

Michael Flatley, (Lord of the Dance)
 Citatul zilei 5
Mama mea facea o distinctie clara intre realizare si succes.

The Quote of the 5th Day of the Week

"My mother had done a strong distinction between realisation and success. She said that "the realisation is thankful to learned things and work and to the fact that you've done all the best of you. The success is like a price you receive from another person and it's nice, but not so important or satisfactory. You have to try always to make your life better and to forget about success."
Helen Hayes
 Citatul zilei 6
Nu este de ajuns sa stim; trebuie sa aplicam. Nu este de ajuns sa vrem; trebuie sa facem.

The Quote of the 6th Day of the Week

 Citatul zilei 7
Progreseaza si nu te opri niciodata pentru ca progresul inseamna perfectiune. Progreseaza si nu te teme de tepii din cale, pentru ca ei atrag doar sangele stricat.

The Quote of the 7th Day of the Week

"Get high and don't ever stop, because progress means perfection. Get high and don't ever fear about the spikes from your way, because they are attracted only of broken blood."
Kahlil Gibran - "The Visit of Wisdom"

A Whisper that Echoes Throughout the Universe.

Our whispered hello to God and each other is called prayer.
I am not just reciting theology when I remind you that there is neither time nor distance when we live and move and breath in the Spirit. As believers, we are all connected not only to God but to each other in the Mystical Body of Christ.  It is as if  the Lord has plugged us into an invisible circuit board where a mere thought lights up a surge of power and love that moves with the speed of light directly to the heart of God and to the soul we are praying for. Many times my parents, sister and children realized that when I mention exactly when I interceded for their needs, they had felt a burden lift.
Although it seems inconceivable to our modern, western logic, the intercession of the saints both living and dead are  vital to our spiritual health. I know that there are men and women of prayer who have interceded for me for decades. Perhaps they are contemplative monks in monasteries or invalids who constantly pray the rosary but the Father uses their prayers to enlighten, guide and heal me. I  near tears of gratitude when I think of their connection to someone they have never met in the flesh.

God is the great “I AM” who exists  yesterday, today and tomorrow. His Spirit mysteriously unites all of us, intimately present to each soul, all at the same time. Our whispered hello to God and each other is called prayer.
We are never alone. We live in the Spirit and He dwells in us.  A cloud of witnesses surrounds us  with prayerful support. They are as near to us as our next breath because they are also in the Spirit and He is in them. Let’s wecome the Word of God and the prayers of the faithful because they are like rays of Sonshine in our hearts.8235998c6b77ce0ce00c025a974f145f

10 Time Management Tips

Article From Home Works About .com

Important for academic success!

    1. Understand the importance of being on time. Students who are always on time are the people who earn the best grades, win scholarships, and get into great colleges. In the working world, the people who are always on time are the people who get promotions.

    2. Get enough sleep. If you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, then make a serious effort to get to bed earlier. Sufficient sleep is essential for maximum brain function anyway, so you really don't want to ignore this aspect of your scholastic habits.

    3. Give yourself a realistic amount of time to dress and groom. You can do this with a simple exercise: Get up early one morning and time yourself (moving at a normal pace) to see how long it takes you to get ready. You may be surprised at the time it takes, especially if you find you have been trying to squeeze forty minutes worth of grooming into fifteen minutes each morning.

    4. Know exactly when you need to be at your destination and subtract ten or fifteen minutes to establish your arrival time. This will give you time to go to the restroom or chat with friends. What time are you expected to be seated in your home room or your first class? If class begins at 7:45, you should arrive at the school by 7:30 and be in your seat at 7:40.

    5. Be open to your teacher's preferences. Does your teacher want you to be seated early? If your teacher wants you to be in class before the bell rings, then do so if it's possible-even if you don't agree. Don't get angry and blame others if you aren't meeting the teacher's expectations. Why cause trouble for yourself?

    6. Communicate any problems. If your bus is always late or you have to take your little brother to school and it always makes you late, just explain this to your teacher.

    7. Listen to traffic news. If you depend on public transportation to get to school, always keep an eye on schedule interruptions.

    8. Have a backup plan for your transportation. If you normally ride to school with a friend, think ahead and plan what to do if your friend gets sick.

    9. Set your clocks forward by ten minutes. This is a dirty little psychological trick that many people play on themselves. The funny thing is, it really works!
